How to Lift Weights More Effectively
Even if you are in the habit of exercising on a daily basis, sometimes you can get into a slump in your lifting routine. Here are a few tips to help you switch up your lifting habits to reach all of your goals.
1. Lift With Someone Stronger Than You
When lifting weights, try lifting with someone that is stronger than you are. They will help motivate you and force you to compete at a higher level, which in turn will lift you to new heights.
2. Do a Proper Warm-Up
If you try and lift a bunch of weight without getting your muscles warmed up you’re more likely to get injured. If you do somehow manage to not get injured, you’re muscles are still weaker while cold and your odds of breaking that bench press goal is highly unlikely.
3. Get Pumped Up
When you’re going for that new goal, visualize yourself breaking your old record. See yourself performing every rep and let your body prep for the strain that is on it’s way. Tell yourself that you can do it and then… do it!
4. Practice Your Form
Lifting is very dangerous if you are not using the proper form for a specific lift. Make sure that you practice your technique on a regular basis with limited weight. This will help your body memorize the proper form and help you be the more effective when lifting with a heavier load.
5. Plan Your Meal Times Around Your Workout
Lifting on an empty stomach can have a massive impact on your lifting abilities. Make sure that you have the energy from a balanced meal that is fully digested. Eating just before lifting is also not recommended.
We hope that these tips will help you go out and reach all of those lifting goals that you’ve set.
